Book Two of the series has been updated and is being reprinted (April\u00a0 2023).\u00a0 Years ago scarcely anybody walked in these hills, but it is now a popular area for British and other hikers, thanks to a network of great paths. Many of these had been abandoned for years, but were brought back into use by me and my colleagues in the late 1990s.<\/p>\n

Book Three, The Mountains of Madrid, covers the area to the north of the capital city of Spain. Most of the walks are within the Sierra de Guadarrama, the mountain range which can be seen from the city centre, and which can be reached within an hour from the city by car or by train. The book was published in February 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n
